Conference Preview: SHSMD Connections 2022 Promises Big Things for Health Care Professionals

When the Society for Health Care Strategy & Market Development’s SHSMD Connections 2022 conference convenes September 11-14 in the Washington, D.C. area, it will aim to inspire, challenge and empower today’s health care professionals. But it will also be a celebration of the many leaders driving growth and innovation in the industry.

“This isn’t just a conference,” says Dan Miers, conference co-chair and chief strategy officer of SPM Group. “The Society is truly a professional association of leaders in the field, and we wanted the conference to not just be educational, but be a celebration of that, and a way for people to experience that in person.”

A wide swath of volunteer planners from all segments of the industry gave their input to shape every aspect of the conference. “We had close to 30 members on our conference planning committee, and that doesn’t include other members that contribute,” says Lisa Hinkle, deputy executive director of education at SHSMD. “You could say we have over 50 experts who have contributed to all of our content and networking events.”

Whether you’re a seasoned veteran or a leader in the making, SHSMD Connections 2022 will give you many opportunities to mix and mingle in person — something you may have been unable to do earlier in the pandemic.

“We want people at all levels to have the opportunity to connect with each other, and we’ve created networking events that are designed with that in mind,” says Martin Szczuczynski, senior manager of strategic planning at AdventHealth and conference co-chair. “Industry leaders and luminaries are ready and willing to forge connections with attendees in intentionally comfortable, approachable settings.”

SHSMD Connections 2022 is convening at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center, just outside Washington, D.C. in National Harbor, Maryland from September 11-14.
