Bariatric surgery can be a life-changing and life-saving procedure for patients struggling with clinically diagnosed obesity. UCSF Health offers a unique step-by-step process that provides patients with medical assistance to meet insurance criteria for the surgery as well as post-surgical support to keep the weight off.

“We offer an excellent program with over an 80 percent success rate in helping patients reach and maintain their goal weight,” explains Molly Busch, precision CRM campaigns program manager at UCSF Health. “Despite the excellence of our program, Bay Area residents might not have been aware of our first-rate bariatric care or felt that surgery was not feasible.”

To close that gap, Busch and her team launched a precision marketing campaign that invited prospective patients to learn more, dispel fears, and take the first step toward better health. “Our goal wasn’t just to advertise a service,” Busch says. “It was to start a conversation — one that feels human, informed, and hopeful.”
