When the marketing team set out to make Comer Children’s a household name, it had a not-so-secret weapon to tap into: the powerhouse brand of the University of Chicago Medicine (UChicago Medicine).

Together, UChicago Medicine and Comer Children’s have a strong reputation for expertise across a broad range of pediatric specialties. According to their winning entry to the eHealthcare Leadership Awards: “They share a dogged pursuit of answers and a willingness to tackle the most complex and critical cases. There’s nothing they won’t do for patients. Their combined depth of experience matters, giving patients an immediate feeling of confidence with physicians and care teams.”

Implementation

Working with its marketing partner Unlock Health, the team created a theme for Comer Children’s that complemented UChicago Medicine’s “Relentless” brand campaign — Comer Care.

More than just delivering technical excellence, Comer Care is the act of caring for children as a parent would — moving heaven and earth to give each child the best chance of recovery. Its physicians will leave no stone unturned. Beyond the stickiness of the name itself, it is a promise for everyone at the hospital to live up to.
